The commemoration of 2022 santri day, which falls on Saturday, October 22, 2022, is commemorated by the Academic Community of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Islamic University of Malang, following the student day apple, which the Islamic University of Malang holds. Acting as the ceremony inspector was the Chancellor of the Islamic University of Malang, Prof. Dr. H. Masykuri MSi.

On this occasion, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at UNISMA, Nur Diana SE, MSi, who also attended the 2022 National Student Day apple, wished all students a Happy National Santri Day 2022 for students throughout Indonesia. According to him, Santri Day started with a fatwa delivered by KH. Hasyim Asy'ari, namely the 'Resolution of Jihad' among pesantren kiai on October 22, 1945.

"There is an obligation to carry out jihad to defend the independence of the Republic of Indonesia by fighting against groups of colonial forces that are still in the country," she said

Diana further said that the struggle based on the national jihad of the santri and kyai gave birth to a heroic event on November 10, 1945, in Surabaya, known as Heroes' Day.

Diana interprets that the commemoration of Santri Day 2022 must be used as a foothold to show that the role of students in the nation's history is always there in every phase of the journey of the Indonesian nation. Santri must show their competence, not only religious knowledge but also master science and technology. For this reason, as students, we must be ready when the state calls.
