FEB UNISMA Presents Russian Professor, Discusses Digitalization and 21st Century Transformation

February 1, 2023, FEB UNISMA held an international seminar to build globally competent human resources in the 5.0 era. This seminar was conducted in a series of self-development ethics to prepare FEB UNISMA graduates to be highly competitive in a global world and invite experts from abroad. Associate Professor Mrs. Nur Diana, SE., M.Sc., gave a welcome speech expressing his appreciation and gratitude for the presence of a keynote speaker from Russia who has been well-established with FEB UNISMA.

Diana emphasized that various international programs carried out as a form of contribution and support from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Islamic University of Malang, accelerated UNISMA to become a World Class University. Besides providing opportunities for students to gain knowledge from various experts from around the world so that FEB UNISMA graduates can become excellent and reliable graduates.
"This International Seminar is an activity that provides global insight and builds character 5.0 for prospective UNISMA graduates. This is also the right moment for us to expand our network and cooperation with international universities," he said

Chancellor of the Islamic University of Malang, Prof. Dr. Maskuri, M.Sc. Also, present to open this event. He was present accompanied by the Head of International Affairs at UNISMA, Dr. Imam Wahyudi Karimullah, SS. MA. The Chancellor said that UNISMA was intensively internationalizing UNISMA. One of the latest efforts is to apply for international accreditation from FIBAA Germany. He also conveyed his very high appreciation to the Dean of FEB UNISMA and his team, who consistently work together to carry out activities at the national and international levels.

The speakers for this activity were Prof. Elchin Gashimov, PhD. who is the Vice Chancellor of Moscow City University, Samara, Russia—acting as a speaker for an International Seminar with the theme digitalization and the transformation of the 21st Century: Trends and Challenges. He thoroughly discussed the technology trend, which is developing very rapidly, and how this trend creates challenges in various sectors. The biggest challenge is experienced by the older generation, who have difficulty adapting to technological advances. To face this challenge, he proposes a solution, namely through teaching and mentorship, that is carried out across generations. Besides that, technological advances also pose challenges and opportunities in many sectors, including the military, health, education, and of course, the economic sector. Therefore, he provides 52 relevant key elements for economical recycling. Some concepts are Advertising, Balance of Payment, Economic depression, etc. There were many discussions in this seminar between the speakers and the audience. Some aspects discussed were Russian and Indonesian digital economic cooperation, technology adaptability, and optimizing the digital economy in the 5.0 era.
Elchim said that Indonesia is a big country which is a friendly country of Russia. The university is open to collaborating with FEB UNISMA and various parties in Indonesia for mutual progress.

"UNISMA, as an Islamic campus, can become a strategic partner of Moscow City University Russia. This opens up enormous opportunities to enhance cooperation between the two universities and the two countries. Implementing the collaboration between FEB UNISMA and Moscow Russia University will be realized by sending Russian students who will carry out the inbound mobility program at FEB UNISMA. Moreover, in December, the team from UNISMA will attend the Global Summit at Moscow City University, Samara, Russia, and expand cooperation with various partners in Europe and the Middle East," he said.
