THE IMPORTANCE OF THE HALAL INDUSTRY, FEB UNISMA PRESENTS AN AMBASSADOR TO THE SHARIA ECONOMIC COMMUNITY IN THE FRAMEWORK OF ECONOMIC RECOVERY

December 15, 2022, Unisma's Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), to help strengthen the national halal industry ecosystem, held a National Seminar entitled The Role of Halal Industry in Supporting the Achievement of Sustainability Development (SDGs). This activity took place at the Gusdur Hall Unisma, attended by 30 lecturers and 500 FEB Unisma students. As well as presenting two speakers, the Ambassador of the Islamic Economic Community (MES), Dr. Hj Marissa Haque Fawzi SH, and the Chancellor of Unisma, Prof. Dr. Maskuri MSi. This activity was opened directly by Nur Diana, SE., M.Si, as the Dean of FEB Universityof Islam Malang.

Nur Diana, SE., M.Si, as the Dean of FEB Unisma, said this seminar wanted to provide insight and contribution to society. She was mainly giving awareness to the Muslim community about the importance of the halal label. FEB Unisma also has a connection in strengthening the halal industry through implementing the tri dharma of higher education. Including the Islamic Banking study program.

Diana continued, "The growth of the sharia economy is also getting more robust, supported by several main drivers, including the sizeable Muslim population, increasing awareness of Islamic ethical values related to the consumption of halal and thoyyib products, and the increasing number of national strategies and programs dedicated to product development. And halal services. Indonesia has great potential to develop the halal industry sector. This is reflected in the percentage of Indonesia's population, which is 12.7% of the world's Muslim population, supported by increased awareness of the importance of consumption in the halal industrial sector. Indonesia's massive potential in the halal industry sector can support national economic growth.

Marissa Haque, the Ambassador of the Islamic Economic Community (MES), says it is essential to have a halal certificate because it is the same as providing certainty. Moreover, getting a halal certificate is challenging because you have to meet several predetermined halal indicators. In a halal certificate, there is something called a reg number or registration number, where when it has been processed, it is considered passed, so it is listed on the list. So that each registration number will not be the same, said Marissa.
Meanwhile, the Chancellor of Unisma, Prof. Dr. Maskuri MSi, gave a positive appreciation for the national seminar. Because of that, he encouraged Unisma's academic community to build a mindset, mindset, and awareness of the importance of the halal industry. According to him, the halal industry is an ample opportunity for the future development of the community's economy. Because it guarantees the continuity of human life in terms of health, life, economy, culture, and even building an ecosystem," said Maskuri. At Unisma, he continued, there is an Integrated Laboratory and Halal Center (Unisma's THC Lab) ready to provide Halal Certification assistance for various products. Good food, drinks, cosmetics, and so on.
