SME FEB UNISMA Holds Videography and Editing Training

The creative industry in videography is currently increasing. In a matter of months, various new technologies have emerged to support the world of videography. Seeing this phenomenon, the Marketing & Entrepreneurship studio of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Islamic University of Malang, held a Videography and Editing Workshop (11-12/04/2022) at the Multimedia Lab FEB UNISMAai 3. The event, attended by students, lecturers, and staff, consisted of several segments, namely the theory and practice of production. Present as speakers for Maulid Agung Triyono (House Hexagonal Digital Art) and Indar Prasetyo (PH Epro), who are involved in the creative economy world as content creators, photographers, and videographers.

The Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at the Islamic University of Malang, Nur Diana SE, MSi, in his speech, said that the prospect of the Indonesian economy, which will become one of the highest-income countries in the world in 2030, which in this case is supported by the actions of the Creative Economy, will be one of the strengths. New national economy. This is indicated by a positive trend considering that the contribution of the GDP (Gross Domestic Product) of the Creative Economy to the national GDP continues to show an increase every year. “One area of the creative economy that shows an increasing trend in videography, which will be very useful for companies, institutions, and other industries for marketing needs, documentation of companies and agencies in the form of videography lately can no longer be used be avoided. The effectiveness of social media and sharing sites in delivering publications, marketing products/services, and public relations is increasingly being recognized.” Diana said.

Diana further emphasized that it is necessary to equip students, especially the administrators of the FEB UNISMA student activity unit, in mastering video content creation skills which are expected to be able to create video products for marketing digital-based products and services, publications, public relations, institutional profiles, short films, to CSR videos. For this reason, through the Digital Marketing Studio, FEB UNISMA held this activity. Diana also hopes that with the 2-day training, participants will be able to design ideas, write screenplays, direct, take pictures, and edit videos. "We hope that the participants who are being discussed for two days can recognize the "important" and "interesting" values in videography products according to their needs, master video capture techniques and database management, etc.

Meanwhile, Fico Abiyu Taufik, the head of the Digital Marketing Studio FEB UNISMA, expressed his gratitude for the support from the Faculty of Economics and Business UNISMA in organizing the Videography Workshop. In the future, the team from SME will be serious about participating in it for two days because, at the end of the session, the output will be assessed. This workshop is divided into two waves. 

Phase 1 will be held on April 11, 2022, discussing practical tips for making creative economy videos. Wave 2 was born on August 22, 2022, by discussing clever economy video editing tricks. The workshop was carried out with due observance of the Covid-19 protocol.
