The team of lecturers and students of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of the Islamic University of Malang (Unisma) carried out community service by preparing Financial Reports for MSMEs Kedungkandang, Malang City. The area is dominated by trade, small industrial enterprises, and home industries, which have prospects for growth. The team consists of Irma Hidayati, S.E., M.Ak (Lecturer of FEB UNISMA), students majoring in Accounting, Ghina Abyan Azizah Haris, and Safira Koesherawati provided socialization and counseling about the importance of preparing simple bookkeeping for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) actors. , then continued with the practice of preparing simple bookkeeping.

In her presentation, Irma Hidayati expressed her concern over the classical problems faced by MSME actors in general.

"I hope that MSME actors can be better at compiling simple bookkeeping so that financial management can be stable and can also find out whether the business they are doing is making a profit or loss," he said.

MSMEs that have been running for more than three years have not received attention from home industry players, namely difficulties in preparing simple bookkeeping. Many business actors focus more on production and marketing but never pay attention to how the business is recorded.

"The condition is that sales transactions are not recorded, receipts or proof of sales/purchases are not kept. Purchases of raw materials are not recorded, so the cost of production of the products sold is unknown," said Putut, the MSME herbal medicine business owner.

According to him, bookkeeping of financial transactions is rarely carried out by MSME actors due to limited information about accounting and only focusing on selling or marketing products. This can make it difficult for MSME actors to make simple financial reports, especially if they want to get financing assistance from banks.

"I want to compile simple bookkeeping, so I can know if my business is profitable or not," he explained.

This service was well received with great enthusiasm from MSME actors from the suspension batik craft and herbal medicine.
