FEB UNISMA Holds a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with UTHM Malaysia Develop Collaboration and Join the Merdeka Learning Curriculum for the Merdeka Campus

The Faculty of Economics and Business, Malang Islamic University, which has three study programs, S1 Management, S1 Accounting, and S1 Islamic Banking, held a Focus Group Discussion on Developing Collaboration and Building Harmonization of ASEAN Higher Education through the Joint Curriculum and the Merdeka Learning Curriculum Merdeka Campus. The event, which collaborated with the Faculty of Commerce Technology & Entrepreneurs, University of Tun Husein Onn Malaysia, took place in the meeting room on the 6th floor of the postgraduate building at the Islamic University of Malang. The FGD, held offline and virtual, was attended by faculty leaders, department heads, Quality Assurance Unit, Quality Assurance Group, FEB UNISMA International and Partnership Affairs Unit (IDD) management by presenting speakers, namely Assoc, Prof, Dr, Azlinan Md. Yasin (Deputy Dean Academic & International Networking UTHM Malaysia), Nur Diana SE, MSi (Dean of FEB UNISMA)

In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and the Business  Universitas Islam Malang said that the Ministry of Education and Culture had established 8 Key Performance Indicators (IKU) to measure the achievements of both public and private tertiary institutions. Referring to this, we, as holders of private tertiary institutions under the Ministry of Education and Culture, must constantly jointly improve our higher education (PT) cooperation with other PTs or related parties. "We must guard universities' cooperation at home and abroad. Without cooperation, all tertiary academics, namely lecturers and students, will not know the true ecosystem that exists outside. Through this collaboration, we hope that the two universities can support each other in achieving WCU," said Diana.

Diana further emphasized that several collaboration parties are very supportive, namely domestic and foreign universities, the government, the business world, the general public, and the mass media. One form of short-term cooperation between FEB UNISMA and FPTP UTHM Malaysia that must be realized is the Join Curriculum, a program we have planned since 2020. In 2021 we will increase various priority programs that realize UNISMA as a WCU, not just a slogan but an action. Clear and measurable. Diana emphasized that graduates who are awakened to be internationally competitive are not only able to master one skill but also must be able to be open-minded and master other things. These courses must be mastered by students so that they are in line with core competencies. Meanwhile, courses and additional courses that support main competencies can be pursued by students through various independent learning programs such as student exchanges with foreign campuses, internships, independent studies, etc. It is hoped that the study program graduates will become graduates who are multitasking and able to adapt to environmental changes.

Meanwhile Assoc. Prof. Azlina Md Yasin (UTHM Malaysia) described the object of study as developing a curriculum related to both. The need for management to present information relating to all existing resources. "Subjects need to be developed on a digital basis, for example, social media management. To face the challenge, there needs to be materially related to data capture and must prepare a good laboratory as a simulation tool (apprenticeship), and there needs to be restructuring related to digitalization," she said
