FEB UNISMA Holds Webinar Hybrid Unshakeable Personal Branding

As a follow-up activity to the Self-Development Ethics Program, FEB Unisma held a hybrid webinar with an event titled "Unshakeable Personal Branding" which took place in the Postgraduate Building Hall 7th Floor (Wednesday, 15 December 2021) filled with Leonard Hendrik Moeri, S.Sos. , M.M as Human Capital Unit Manager Marketing Operation Region VII Papua Maluku Region PT. Pertamina. This event was attended by all students participating in Self-Development Ethics, both offline and online. Nur Diana, S.E., M.Si, the dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Unisma, in her speech, said that this Personal Branding activity was initiated by FEB Unisma in 2021 to support prospective graduates to become entrepreneurs, to interact with the world of work, to become future graduates competitive.

"This Self-Development Ethics Program will be filled by experts such as HRD from various companies, psychologists, personality experts, motivators, etc. As we are currently inviting Leonard, he is a Human Capital from PT. Pertamina understands very well how human resources needs are needed by the industrial world. There will even be personality experts who will later make up your appearance, and there will also be psychologists. So on," Diana said in front of the students. Diana further explained that fresh graduates need to understand that there is high competition in the world of work. Based on BPS data, Indonesia's workforce in February 2020 was 137.91 million, with 6.88 million unemployed. The number of unemployed has increased from the previous year of 0.06 million (60,000 people). This shows that competition for jobs is getting tougher. Good personal branding makes your chances of getting a job even more significant. Employers at this time need information other than CV and portfolio. "Companies want to know job seekers in terms of what skills set them apart from other candidates, their personality outside the work environment, and how they use social media. By having personal branding, they will be more interested in you than other candidates," said Diana.

FEB Unisma wants prospective graduates to prepare early by knowing their advantages and disadvantages and understanding how these shortcomings can be covered through their advantage. Attending this activity, Leonard, in his presentation, explained how to form a personal branding that can be built from he was still in college until he graduated so that it has more value that can be used to apply for a job. According to him, having personal branding will look more different. The placement of the displayed self-image and portfolio evidence will make the applicants stand out from the others. “If you have expertise and interest in a field. Then take advantage of all available media to show your work. By doing it regularly, you have built a personal brand,” he said.
