FEB UNISMA Holds Advanced Level Capital Market School Bacht XII

Wednesday (17/05/2022), the Investment Gallery of the Indonesia Stock Exchange, Faculty of Economics and Business, Islamic University of Malang (GIBEI FEB UNISMA) held an Advanced Level Capital Market School with the theme "Community Bridge to be Smart Investor" This activity is an annual routine activity. organized by GIBEI FEB UNISMA.

The Capital Market School (SPM) is a capital market education and socialization program regularly held by the IDX FEB UNISMA Investment Gallery in collaboration with PT Bursa Efek Indonesia, East Java Representative Office, and PT IPOT.

The event, opened by the Dean of FEB UNISMA Nur Diana, S.E., M.Si., was attended by more than 250 participants from various Malang Raya communities. PT. Indopremiere Securities

In her speech, Diana emphasized the Role and Functions of the Capital Market School, which was held by GIBEI FEB UNISMA as an implementation to assist the policies of the Ministry of Finance and the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in increasing financial inclusion and literacy as well as the number of investors, especially novice investors.

"There is currently a lot of investment growth in Indonesia, even investment growth in the Indonesian capital market. However, the 2019 National Financial Literacy and Inclusion Survey (SNLIK) results show a financial literacy index of 38.03% and a financial inclusion index of 76.19%. In general, Indonesian people do not understand well the characteristics of various financial products and services offered by formal financial service institutions," he said

"This proves the prevalence of fraud and fraudulent investments under the guise of official investments in the name of official investments in the Capital Market and officially recognized by OJK circulating in the community, so FEB UNISMA and its Indonesian Stock Exchange Investment Gallery have a moral obligation to provide proper education and outreach to the public. so as not to be deceived by fake investments that are troubling the public," he stressed

According to him, recognizing early on how to invest correctly with the support of the right strategies and techniques will encourage knowledge and literacy of the Indonesian people, which is currently expected to revive the Indonesian economy after the pandemic.

It should be noted that the advanced level SPM activities organized by FEB UNISMA do not only collaborate with students at Malang City but also involve various poor communities such as the Smart and Superior Generation community, Digital Community, and MSME community, etc.

Meanwhile, Asikin Ashar (Senior Trainer of PT BEI East Java Representative Office) gave high appreciation to FEB UNISMA, primarily through GI BEI FEB UNISMA, who was always consistent in encouraging the improvement of public financial literacy and inclusion through education, socialization programs packaged in the form of the Capital Market School. According to him, the role of universities, in this case, FEB UNISMA is significant in overcoming misleading investment problems which are currently rife among the public. In his presentation, Asikin emphasized that the Indonesian capital market is currently volatile, so investing in the capital market requires courage and must be observant in every decision making. "Investing in the capital market in principle, the risk is higher, but the profits will be even greater. Even today, there are also many strange practices such as stocks used by brokers to influence the stock world.

Imam Gunadi (Investment Specialist at PT Indopremiere Sekuritas) explained various investment techniques, including technical and fundamental analysis. In addition, Imam also explained the account opening technique and the implementation of the IPOT application as a Cloud-based investment facility that is easily accessible to SPM Advance Level participants.
