The Dean officially opened the Accounting Festival 2022, Faculty of Economics and Business, the University of Islam Malang, on Tuesday, Wednesday (20/09/22). This activity was organized by the Accounting Study Program Student Association Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Islam Malang (FEB Unisma). This time, AFEST 2022 carries the theme "Create Your Masterpiece to Be Great Generation with Accounting Festival 2022".

In this activity, there are several features of the accounting festival, including the Call for Paper 2022 with the theme "Acceleration of Economic Digitization through Education on the Implementation of the Digital Economy to Face the Era of Society 5.0". This Call for Paper is intended for student participants throughout Indonesia, divided into the sub-themes The Role of the Digital Economy, The Role of Education in the Digital Economy, Developments in the Digital Economy Era, and the Potential of Human Resources in the Digital Economy Era. While other activity features are Accounting Intelligence for SMA, SMK, and MA levels throughout Indonesia, Accounting Got Talent, and a National Accounting Seminar culminating in a series of activities at the 2022 Accounting Festival.

The 2021 Accounting Festival was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, The University of Islam Malang, Nur Diana SE, MSI. In his speech, he gave appreciation to the Student Association of the Accounting Study Program FEB UNISMA, which is increasingly creative and caring in an effort to respond to business developments in the era of digital transformation, where accounting science is growing rapidly and is required to continue to adapt. On the one hand, the company must be adaptive in responding to all changes. One of them is responding to changes in society, including consumer habits, which are starting to switch to digital transactions. "The accountant has a big role in preparing the strategic response. Accountants who understand technological developments will know the latest developments and help companies build strategic responses. Accountants can use Big Data, Data Analytics to build a more Agile organization. Accountants also play a role in helping organizations take advantage of the latest technology," said Diana

"This is an exciting theme to be studied in a scientific paper which can later provide insight and solutions on the roles and challenges of accountants in the 5.0 era."  Diana further revealed that the AFEST 2022 event also bridges the efforts of HimaProdi Accounting FEB UNISMA to improve the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of students who will prepare themselves to enter the academic world in higher education. So accounting skills have become essential and need to be ready since high school.

 The relationship between high schools and colleges in the field of accounting needs to be established through the Accounting Festival program so that there is good synergy in the field of education, thereby increasing the adaptation of prospective students at the tertiary level," Diana said in front of the online competition participants.
