Improving the Quality of Lecturer Research, FEB Unisma Holds a Research Roadmap Preparation Workshop

The workshop, which was held offline and online Friday (August 13, 2021), took the theme of Compiling the FEB Unisma Research Roadmap "In Improving National Competitiveness," which was a follow-up activity in developing the Research and Community Service Roadmap that had been carried out previously.

This workshop activity collaborates with research experts who are also the Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation at Esa Unggul University, Jakarta, namely Dr. Muhammad Fachruddin Arrozi SE, Ak., M.Sc. He is the winner of the 2019 World Championship award in Accounting Investment Decision Research. He often receives research grants, mainly from research and innovation research programs.

Nur Diana, SE., M.Si as the Dean of FEB Unisma, in her opening remarks, said that this activity is a continuation of the Development of Research and Community Service Roadmap Policies FEB Unisma which will later materialize a Research Roadmap in each Study Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Islam Malang.

"The research and community service roadmap becomes the basis for lecturers in conducting research and community service on an ongoing basis by containing three important components, namely first how research activities are carried out, secondly how activities in the current period are carried out, and third how activities in the future period will be.
FEB Unisma, which has 3 study programs, namely Accounting, Management, and Sharia Banking, needs to develop themes that are in line with the expert group of FEB Unisma lecturers and rely on the 2017-2045 research agenda to achieve Indonesia's vision, with the theme Human Resource Development and Improving Competitiveness Nation. Each study program is expected to have a roadmap with its respective advantages that rely on the vision and mission of the study program, faculties, and Unisma.
Diana continued that this workshop is expected to be a forum for knowledge transfer and research best practices for FEB Unisma lecturers to obtain research grants from various government institutions, institutional grants, and independent partnerships.

Meanwhile, Fachruddin Arrozi said that currently, Dikti requested that the outputs of lecturers' research should provide inventions that are beneficial to the community in the form of social impacts and can be of economic value that the resulting product will provide general revenue things to institutions (either universities or faculties). Each research produced will be followed by the question of what innovation is produced.

This roadmap cannot stand alone for research and community service, but there must also be innovation in addition to the main activities.
In one research activity, lecturers must be able to contribute five benefits both for Study Programs, Faculties, and Universities, including study program accreditation forms, Higher Education Institute forms, research ranking forms, ranking forms for service, and ranking forms for innovation, added Fachruddin Arrozi.

"Although, as an economics lecturer, you must be able to produce patents that can produce many outcomes to boost the institution's ranking," he said.
